Antique Gold-Framed Easter Card

This beautiful Easter Card uses two embossing techniques to add antique elegance.

SUPPLIES

Stamp Sets:

• Storybook Friends #164668

Tools

• Storybook Friends Dies #164674; Paper Snips: Paper Cutter with Scorer; Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder #158655 (or similar); Blending Brushes (or sponges); Heat Tool; soft, wide paint brush; adhesive (liquid glue); Mini Dimensionals. 

Cardstock:

Pecan Pie (card base)

• 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4”

Very Vanilla

• Cut 2: (front design and inside):  3-3/4” x 5”

• Cut 1: (front matte) 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”

• Scrap for front sentiment (Easter Greetings)

Lost Lagoon (inside matte)

• 4” x 5-1/4”

Designer Series Paper and Specialty Paper:

Storybook Moments 

• Pick out a design, cut out using the oval frame from Storybook Friends Dies.

Distressed Gold

• Cut out using Oval Frame from Storybook Friends Dies

Ink

• Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake, VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Blend ink on one 3-3/4” x 5” Very Vanilla cardstock.

2. Place into the Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder with the Stampin’ Up! symbol up (you want the outline and flowers raised).

3. Let dry for at least 30 seconds

4. Take a VersaMark pad and gently rub over the highlights of the embossing. 

5. Sprinkle Gold Embossing powder over the top.  Use a soft, large, paintbrush to remove excess.  Heat with heat embossing tool until gold is melted. 

6. Put some liquid glue on the backside of the (gold) cut-out frame.  Adhere to the front of the card. 

7. Put some liquid glue on the backside of the cut-out picture.  Adhere to the inside of the frame. 

8. Stamp “EASTER GREETINGS” in VersaMark on a piece of scrap Very Vanilla cardstock.  Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder.  Remove excess.  Heat until melted. 

9. Cut the greeting into two:  “Easter” and “Greetings,” adhere using mini dimensionals. 

Assemble Front

1. Adhere the completed front panel (embossed with picture frame) onto the other 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” Very Vanilla piece of cs.

2. Adhere to the front of Pecan Pie card base. 

 Assemble Inside

1. Adhere second 3-3/4” x 5” Very Vanilla cs to the 4” x 5-1/4” Lost Lagoon cs; adhere to inside of card base.
